Manhart 4-tip exhaust system: Diffuser suggestions?

Hi guys,

this is my first post on this forum so thanks for reading..!

Background
In the summer of 09 I got a E88 convertible which has always been a great car. But what was the next car to buy???
3 years ago I was at the Geneva motorshow and I fell in love with the 981 Porsche Boxster. Since I then I've been working and saving up to be able to buy this kind of car. But the whole Boxster idea was swept away once I got to the Essen Motor Show where the MH2 400 WB from Manhart was presented.
It was at that moment I knew, f*kc the Porsche, go for the BMW... :thump:

Today
I've ordered my M235i xDrive last month so it should arrive before the end of June.
After I pick it up from my dealer, I will probably get it over to Manhart a few days later (Wuppertal, DE) to leave it there for another 3 whole weeks to convert it to the MH2 400 WB.
Being in the customization business myself I love to stand out with my car and add some other mods..

One of these mods would be a Autoplus.jp carbon diffuser instead of the MP one.

BUT....

I want Manhart to install a titanium 4-tip exhaust system. Would anyone cut their carbon diffuser to make this work or do you guys think there is another diffuser as good looking as the Autoplus one? Or should I just go for 2 bigger tips instead of 4?

I'm already in contact with Mr. Braun from Manhart who is helping me to make my project come together with their products to result in a one-off car.

TO BE CONTINUED...

Thanks in advance!!

Very nice sounding build. Would be interesting to see if anyone knows about any quad compatible diffusers. Doesn't seem to be a great deal of choice. Eisenmann do one but it looks very stock, so maybe its just a modified stock rear.

Eisenmann does seem to use the stock rear with just some small modifications to it. BUT the exhaust tips from Eisenmann only have a 76mm exhaust tip where I want to have it bigger (min. 90mm).

I was hoping to get the quad tips installed more to the middle as it is with the M4 and probably the M2.

In the meantime I've found another CF diffuser that fits 4 tips (AC Schnitzer), but again, the exhaust tips wouldn't be 'centered' enough to get to an M4 look.

I still want that Autoplus diffuser to work

Hello I recently joined this forum this is my first post

I had the same problem as you, I bought the armytrix exahust and wanted to put quad tips so after just a litle modification to the exahust and a cut to the diffuser I was able to make it work. Here's a pic....

looks really great, WOW!!! What dimensions are these tips? 4x80? Did you order the FRP or the Carbon diffuser?

In the meantime I have ordered the 3D Design quad-tip diffuser mid June and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

We do specialize in one-off solutions and are sure to be able to find a good solution for your quad-exhaust "problem" (if that is still up to date).
What I currently have in mind looks almost like the one pictured 3 posts above. Just not as cramped.
Contact Mr. Braun (or me) for details if interested.

Thank you for the reply Ray and dt20011,

I ordered the 3D Design quad tip diffuser since I wanted to have it in carbon fibre.

Install of my exhaust system is planned for the 28th this month :-D

Once this is done I will post a full thread on my car!
