I might buy an msport 228 over an M235 just for the more attractive rear end.

The m sport 228i will likely have an identical diffuser to the M235i. You'd likely need to get a 228i sport line to avoid the diffuser

Not sure where to post this... (and considering it with a large grain of salt).... there is some fun to be had with the tuning of the M235i when it comes out... if these are anything to go by...

The M Sport will have the lower part of the rear in black while the Sport version has body color. My understanding is the sport model does not have sport seats on the 2 series so that wouldn't work for me. I'd live with the black, doesn't look right with the Mineral White paint job but it's OK with the dark colors. I wonder if it looks as bad in real life. I have it on the back of my X1 M Sport and never notice it because its (black part) so low to the ground and bends in towards the car.

The Msport 228i doesn't have that strange lip (spoiler) on the trunk deck. That's what I was referring to.

I Donno is it just me coz I hate the wheels on m235i. They seem small for whatever reason n not very BMW like. They are more like a cheap wheel cover design.

If it happens and if BMW decides to do it right, without considering market overlap, what it would do to M4 sales etc., which for me also means that if it mixes the best attributes of 1M and M235i, that M2 can be better than both and a very attractive small M car indeed.

This is my hopeful side, a bit day dreaming a M2 CSL too; my practical side tells me that after all these strong numbers (including a price ready to fly away with options), accessories, M Perf. parts etc. there may be a slimmer chance of seeing one

Guess we need to wait and see.

i agree with you in parts.... the performance of the m235 sounds really impressive and if you take into account the M performance parts BMW is promising, it will definitely take to the next level. However, having said that, the more i think, for the good or bad, i believe they could come up with a limited production M2 car, similar to what they did to the 1M, a limited production car that will just enhance the performance of the m235 after all the m parts. that would be a way to create something very special without compromising the sales of the m3/m4

I like the car but the wheels need to be bigger and more aggressive.

Can any one clarify the interior lights for me?

The M235i Highlights state:
"Variable use of color for the interior lighting"

Is this F15 style in the door trim or something else? I haven't seen any videos and photos of this either.

Can anybody shed any light on the subject? (Yes, please do pardon the pun).

Edit: Found it, never mind.

Configurator

Seems likely to me that the configurator will become available in conjunction with the Detroit Auto Show. Yes?
