Got a Staccato P today.

Tomorrow the new law is going to be signed into effect here in MA, so I wanted one last hurrah... It was this or the DWX...

superlative arms adjustable gas block

Put one of these on my latest 223 Wylde build last month on a recommend from a friend and it worked well, so last weekend I got another one and put it on my "Gas Master 3000" AKA my 6mm ARC thermal coyote build that was gassy BEFORE I put a whisper pickle on it......now it's basically a face painter.

These have a full closed setting, a standard adjustable setting, a wide open setting, and a vent setting so instead of just blocking how much is sent thru the gas tube and leaving the rest in the system - it takes what it needs and then vents the rest into the atmosphere. I wound up being able to set it to full vent with zero malfunctions, so I clicked it back in 3 clicks and called it good. One shot used to coat the next 3 rounds in the mag pretty well, but as you can see this helped that significantly. Surprisingly it shifted my point of aim to the right about 6 inches, but that was easy to correct.

FYI - If anyone was like me and never heard of them - worth a check out if you need an adjustable gas block.

I finally got to shoot it today, sorry no video. It is pretty quiet on a bolt gun. I shot it a few times with no hearing protection and it did not bother me. Accuracy was fine but it was odd that it moved my zero so much vs my 300 omega. Three shot to adjust then it was good to go. The brake on it is ok but not as good as the omega with slightly more felt recoil but still less than no brake at all. Total gun weight less than 7.5lbs with a 56mm Z6 Swarovski and the can. Incredibly light package and only 41.5” long total.

That is extremely light! What gun is that and what is it chambered for? Thoughts on accuracy and also felt recoil given its light weight?

It is a Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT chambered in .308 with a 16” barrel. It has an accuracy guarantee of SUB-MOA. That is what I am seeing out of it personally. Recoil is fairly light suppressed and even lighter with the factory muzzle brake (hold your ears). I would compare is to a standard .243.

It’s an absolute joy to hunt with. Super light and short so it’s really easy to manage. I used it last year with my omega, the scythe is icing on the cake.

Google Gov Maura Healy's Emergency Preamble so to avoid the legal rights of Citizens of Mass.

Anymore this will get locked or shut down.
