Is ther a listing somewhere of what can actually be coded for our cars? I'd like to know before spending another $20 on this app.

Frankly I've not been very impressed with Carly so far. Probably should have bought BimmerCode which seems much more powerful for less than half the price. Does anyone know if the Carly adapter will work with BimmerCode?

Yes, list available on the carly site. I tried the other coding app, worked ok but not great. Carly is OK as well few more features IMO.

Hello all

I have Carly and have coded auto start/stop and seatbelt warning off on my 2017 M240.

I want to code the digital speedo, but am leery, as when I coded it on my X3, it replaced the dash logo with M550D!

Those of you who have coded the digital speedo on a 240 with Carly - is the M240i dash logo retained?

Thanks

I added the digital speedo on my 235 and the logo remained, but can't speak specifically to the 240 (assuming something is different in that respect between the 2 vehicles)

Tested 2 of the 3 new features (disable ASD and exhaust valve). Both work as advertised...BUT, you have to redo every time you start the car which is a bummer. Not sure why that is, but that's how it works.

I didn't test the 3rd feature which was support for NBT idrive. Maybe later in the week.

What do you mean you have to redo every time you start the car? The coding for ASD doesn't "stick"?

Nope. Unless I made a mistake during the process. I had to put the device back in the obd port and reset.

You're making me think now....maybe I did something wrong. I'll try again Tues or Wed.

I've been playing around with the new update. The ASD update only gave me the option of turning it off or changing to M3/M4 or M5/M6 sounds, no valve options. I turned it off and it seems quieter in the car. It also seems to have saved as it's the same today as it was yesterday.

I also played with the new NBT options. Adding the Sport Display is cool (not sure about accurate) but certainly fun to watch whilst driving.

It did cost an additional $15 to 'purchase' the new update.

That upgrade charge is only for idrive change access not the valve or asd.

Also, turning the valve on/off is separate from the asd change just to be clear and yes asd does stay programmed (my mistake in an earlier post) but the exhaust valve on/off does not. that's the one you have to set each time - in fact, you need to leave the app running on the actual screen where you make the valve change. Bizarre.

I also see DRL light switch (ie position when active). I also see rear DRL as welcome light. But, I do not see rear DRL. Based on other available codes, it should be an option.

Digital speedo is a different FDL than dash logo. They should not affect each other.

I haven't been able to find anything on the Carly site regarding what can been coded on an NBT iDrive. I only see mention of CIC. Am I missing something?

Hmm...well, the other way to see what's code able is to connect to the carly bluetooth device and select NBT. Then run the READ option then you'll see the list of what options you van code.

List

At top of page you can select chassis. Then, expand different sections for options.

Yes but I only see "codable in CIC". Our cars have NBT. I don't see anywhere what we can do with NBT.

I sent an email to Cary support and they acknowledged that their support pages haven't kept up with their latest release.

As I said, just plug the obd reader in and scan the ecu's, select the NBT option, then select the "Read" option...you'll see everything that's available to code, which isn't much frankly.

So which module did you find the valve in? It isn't in my ASD menu, that only has one entry for changing the synthesized sound.

It has its own button - top row. It's not even really coding. You can toggle it on/off so long as the obd reader is connected and the carly app is running. It's a new button next to the idrive button. Even has a "NEW" banner running through it.

I've switched across to Bimmercode as that has far more options for coding out of the box and allows expert mode coding.

I've also now setup eSys with the cable, so have all options.

The cost of Carly compared to the others and what it offers are not that good.

Where you able to use the Carly OBD adapter with BimmerCode?
