M240i : Fitting a bicycle in back ( inside ) ?

Hello!

Has anyone placed a road bike in the back inside the car with the seats folded down?

I used to be able to place a road bike without removing the wheel in my trusty E92 335i and I was wondering if the F22 M240i was able to accept a bike the same way?

Only able to fit my road bike in the M240i with the front wheel removed, also easier if the saddle is removed, too.

2 road bikes wheels off no problem. I think one was ok with the wheel, but it's been a while...

Interesting you bring the subject but I will extend a notch over about elderly people who may need a mobility equipment.

A wheelchair doesn't fit at all and a walker barely with both back seats folded. So I am not surprised fitting a bike is a challenge. The F22 trunk is very small and definitely not a hauler for much aside from a grocery getter.

During summer time, I haul 2 beach chairs, 2 small coolers and its about it.

Thanks!

Did you need to fold down the back seats to get the chairs and cooler in ?

As well, I needed to take the front wheel off to fit my bike in.

Say what you will, but these cars are surprisingly practical. I've been amazed at how much stuff I have managed to fit in, and it's really cool to see it holding two bikes!

With the back seats down, my car will hold a surprising amount of stuff. Large objects like you mention aren't likely to fit, though, are they.

This is great! ha ha! man you can carry a lot in there. I'm psyched. Hoping to pick up a M235i and feeling much better about practicality!

I also carry a 56 cm road bike in my trunk with the rear seats down. Did it with my M235i and now my M2. I do have to remove the front wheel though.

I would never pack my back seat through the roof because it limits visibility and compromise safety. Folding the rear seat is just for commodity on a short trip.

Furthermore, folding the rear seats limits the travel of the front seats so it is a serious inconvenient for tall passengers. For me, what doesn't fit in the trunk has to stay home.

Done this many times with the back seats folded down. But I've always removed both wheels, it's just easier with the other stuff I'd be carrying. But never found a need to remove the seatpost.

I wouldn't do that either, as I use the outside mirrors to see the blind spots and the inside mirror to see directly behind the car, including when carrying all that gear to the track. There's no need to compromise safety when filling the back part of the car with things you wish to carry with you.

I usually ride a size 54 frame. Routinely carry 1 bike w/ the front wheel off all the time. But never tried two at once before....impressed w/ the pic above!

Just tried it with my 54cm bike.
Does fit with front wheel off. You do have to play around a bit with pedal position but maybe this gets easier with practice.

I have small pedals (the lollipop speedplay ones), they usually fit inside the groove between the seatback and the trunk...but yea you have to fiddle around w/ it.
