OT: My car being priced 21% below MSRP was just gravy when I picked it up at the dealer. I was grateful that they still had it, and they were glad someone finally bought it.

thanks.. I played around and priced it similar to my 2018 230i with M Sports & Premium (of course) along with Shadowline and HK Stereo. Priced very similar to my '18 which had Leather but not HK Audio and also I had to pay $300 for Apple CarPlay.
So overall a well priced vehicle, Don't love the exterior but don't dislike it either. Looks like my 2018 on steroids along w/more standard features |

Anyone else feel like the image quality on the customizer looks bad? Like reduced quality GIF bad..
Cant wait to see the new M2 at this point. Price is lower than I expected it to be, but interior options are very limited, and the wheel choices are pretty ugly. |

question... I'm interested in base 230i w/M Sports & Premium Pkgs; M240i is above my budget.
But for the base 2 series what would I gain selecting 19" wheel option vs the standard 18" wheels?? That option is priced at $600.. You think worth it or no??? |

Mostly a cosmetic decision. Although if you have rough roads in your area, 19's could be a bit harsh. 18's are more practical and still are a really nice size (at least on the F22).

I’m looking at a very similar build. I think the wheels are well worth the 600 bucks and think they make the car look a lot better and sportier. I’m also not a fan of the looks of the 18” standard option. The 19” M bi color look great IMO

I have read this as well, I do not believe that the manual 6MT will be an option sub M2....

When the M2 came out, you could get an M2 with leather seats, navigation etc for $52k . Now they made the competition package standard for many years for $58k. I don't need all this power/upgrades... nor can I afford a $58k car |

agree! I want back to website and those excellent 797M style bi-color wheels are not available with base 18" wheels. I will definitely choose the 19" now... thanks

19" wheels in New England are a disaster waiting to happen! I got rid of mine as soon as the original wheel and tire insurance expired. AFAIK, the 1" difference in size makes a negligible difference in handling, unless you are a real expert, and even then, the tires make more of a difference than the size.

Anyone know how long it takes to get one of these after ordering?
I haven't bought a new car in 35 years but I am really thinking about this one. Shadowline is a given but red metallic over black or Porti blue over Red leather? I've had sensatec and leather and didn't notice much difference so I could save money with Red over black sensatec. I need to find out how important the cooling package is to a car that will not be tracked. Last edited by Rollo`; 09-12-2021 at 12:55 AM.. |

From bmwusa.com: "Increased capacity of the braking and drivetrain cooling systems guarantee long-lasting high performance under extreme driving conditions, particularly when driving in very high temperatures." IOW, it's supposed to make a difference when driving 80 mph from Denver to St. Louis on a 105° day.

I think "long-lasting" is the key part in the sentence, whatever it means specifically. IIRC, power has been raised to 382 HP, and that means more heat. It may be that what worked satisfactorily in terms of an owner's usage at 335 HP won't work as well long-term at the higher HP. But that's just a guess on my part.

This option is just for tracking in extreme conditions and nothing else. There is no way somebody will even stress this engine in desert driving conditions and by experience, I know what I am talking about.

If xDrive owners aren't going to the track (something BMW will be well aware of), why would an xDrive buyer choose this option? I've been surprised for years now that BMW has continued to offer the option. Clearly, it hasn't hurt their bottom line or I don't think they would have kept offering it.
