Max tire height question (245/35/19 on the rear)

I have a 2018 M240i with OEM 19's (19x7.5 front, 19x8 rear). I would like to replace the current tires with something a little bit taller, both to fill up the opening a bit more and help with ride quality. The OEM tire sizes are 225/35 and 245/30

Plenty of people run 235/35 on the front so that seems like a no-brainer. They are 25.5" tall. The problem is I can't come up with a good size for the rear that's a similar height AND will fit on my 8" rims.

A 255/30 is only 25.1" tall, quite a bit shorter than the 25.5" for the 235s planned for the front. A 265/30 is 25.3" tall but it's too wide for my rims.

The only other thing I can find is a 245/35. They are 25.8" tall. That's 1/2"-3/4" taller than most rear tire sizes people use...is that too tall?

And yes, I realize that will impact the speedometer but mine seems to read 1-2 mph slow anyway so I'm not worried about that.

Thx

I run 245/35/19 in the rears. Speedo actually now matches to gps speed. Wheel is 19x8.5 +35.

Thank you! What do you have up front?

Same size up front. Running a square set up so I can actually rotate my tires and not burn through them so fast. I think the additional height from the wheels helps close some of the wheel gap nicely.

Do you notice any ride comfort difference on the 19s vs 18s? I probably won't be looking at ordering new wheels/tires until next summer (My 240 hasn't even shipped yet, and PCD isn't available until Feb ;_; ) but this'll be my daily. I like that closed wheel gap a lot, but wonder if you noticed any significant detriments to comfort.

I can't say since my car has only had 19's. Considering that it has runflats with really short sidewalls currently, I think the ride is actually pretty good. Damn things are super noisy though, although that has nothing to do with them being 19s.

Gotcha. I currently have a '17 Civic Si with 18" RFs, but I spec'd my 240 to have the non-RFs. Noise has never been an issue on my Si, but I also have zero clue what the wall is off the top of my head. Suppose I could always just do thicker walled 18s and springs or coils to cut that gap a bit anyways.

Do you think I'll be able to run a 18x9.5+35 square set up? Or should I go with the 8.5

Me and a few other people here have been using 18x9.5 +45 offset. I'm using a 17.5mm spacer up front. This is a track set up due to aggressive camber (-3* F -1.75* R). The tires will rub with less than 2.5* F camber.

Hi mate! Do you have a photo, where I can see how far out is your wheel compared to the side?
