Has anyone tried any other settings?

I've tried I01 and F48 and liked them both on flat eq settings. If anyone has time for a little hassle , take a moment and try them out

This is by far one of the best tweaks out there. Always thought the HK left something to be desired (compared to other German cars, this one went very weak). Coded to F45 this weekend, and WOW, these subs have thump now!!

EDIT: Just when I was feeling happy with improved bass, I had the SZL replaced for "cruise control malfunction," which required reprogramming, and now feels flat again. I checked with Bimmercode, and shows F45 is the EQ setting. Does it make sense the audio would change with reprogramming and now not "take" despite an F45 profile selected?

Try switching it back and forth to another setting to make sure you're really on F45

Much better F45 EQ profile here! To think I thought I needed to upgrade my car audio even though I chose a premium sound package. I didn’t mess with the fade just treble and bass +10 haha

Is this only for cars with HK system, or this will also apply to the base system?

Any idea if this is possible via E-Sys?

Decided improvement on my F23

Thanks for finding this and pointing it out! I'm somewhat hampered, in that I am partially deaf, so stereo doesn't exist for me, but I do like the improvement over the stock EQ curve.

Like the consensus, I tried the F45 profile first and I'm going to stick with it for a bit. It is a much better sound by my tastes. I'll play around with the others for the next week or so.

is EQ_variant only can be found in NBT EVO?

Also, for 676 system, set the MOST output to aktiv will improve the sound?

I finally got around to trying this in my 2021 m240i with the premium system. After 100 miles on F45, I think I like it better than the stock F22 new. But I'm a little surprised to hear everyone saying that the subs hit so much harder on this setting. I hear a slight improvement in the bass, but I still have my bass setting turned up about 2/3 of the way. I've started to wonder if there's an issue with my subs, I hear only a modest difference between bass all the way up and bass all the way down.

I'm always curious as to what type of music others who have tried this are listening to? The biggest complaint I have about the HK premium system is that the mids always sound scooped. I mostly listen to a variety of rock music, ripped to FLAC format and stored on the music drive. Speaking as a guitar player, rock music lives in the midrange.

For a factory system, the premium Logic 7 stereo I had in my old 128i was excellent. I don't necessarily regret getting the premium HK system, but it's nowhere near as good. Maybe I just need to spend some more time tweaking it, but I would love to find a reasonably-priced upgrade that can help dial in some mids.

Play some rap or pop and I think you'll see how overpowering the bass can be… at least overpowering because they completely drown out whatever mids there are.

Is it just me or did bimmercode change they way to set the EQ? I played with these settings last year and switched between F45 and F40 a couple times. I went back in last week via expert and there A LOT more options and the Amplifier section is gone. I did find the EQ_ VARIANT section mentioned three posts above and there are 8 options. I tried some of them and landed on option 3. Am I missing something or did this all change recently??

If you haven't already done so, give F39 a try. After a few weeks of having it coded, I've decided I like this one better than the stock or F45 settings. It has better bass than the F22 setting without being as overbearing as F45. I also hear less scooping of the midrange. I think I have it bass +6, treble +3, and a very slight fade to the rear to reduce the treble from the center speaker. This is the best I've ever gotten the HK system to sound, I'm leaving mine on F39.

The sound stage is much wider and spread out which helps in the overall stereo separation. The bass is much cleaner with greater overall presence.

Flat EQ -- both bass and treble in the middle position and I feel like it sounds amazing compared to F22.

Will report back on F39 shortly.

E39 put the sound way more in the front than F45 -- as if everything was coming from the front dash. Quality of the sound was similar but sticking with F45 forsure.
I finally got my eton fronts and eton coax installed today and will try out both the new f22 and the f39 tomorrow.

How have you find the settings? Cheers mate

Ive tried f22, f39 and f45 and have ended up with f22 with a feeling that the bass is more controlled and better vocals

I assume the sound will also still change during burn in so ill report back later.

All in all. Massive upgrade for the price! Very happy
Also happy to hear less tire noise after adding sound deadening

I'm seeing the same thing. I just stumbled onto this thread and have the HK system. I downloaded the bimmercode app BUT NOT PURCHACED IT YET, and do not see where you can code anything like F45. Can anyone guide us through the menu steps to get to the F45 setting?

You will not see it until you can set your car type which means you need to buy it. It works great and now I have both Bimmercode and Bimmerlink.

Yep, bought it today and it worked great! I changed the EQ curves, (new F22) changed the iDrive shut off, mirrors fold in now WAY too many things we can change with Bimmercode.
