Enabling video in motion MY16

Hey guys I can't seem to find the SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX or MIN on my 2016 M235i. They both exist in a different module on the same ecu for I think navigation 3006 when I use the search function but its already set to not active and seems like it would only effect nav anyway. I found everything else needed to disable the different locks but this has my stumped.

Has something changed in the newer cars?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Have you tested the coding?

What do you mean? I have done quite a bit of other coding with no problems and everything else has worked fine. I also have tested video in motion and it works right up until I move a few mph and then stops.

That's what I'm saying I can't find. It doesn't even seem to be there so I can change the values.

I already changed the handbrake/gearbox in P to none
and the handbrake lock is set to not active

Just simply can't find the SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN/MAX lines to edit.

Man I can't find it for the life of me. Even if I use the search function neither one comes up except for in the 3006 Nav section so its not the correct ones I want.

I don't know where else to look!

When I get home tonight I'll give it another shot

Thanks for the reply guys

Do not get hung up on sections. You probably have the correct parameter if you found the matching verbiage. I am not sure at which I-Step you are, but the image I posted was from CAFD_00000DED_003_015_224.

If you cannot find, feel free to PM me your *.ncd and I can take a look.

Man I'm telling ya, I searched line by line down the whole thing and didn't find the speed lock lines. They only exist like I said in the NAV section but are already set to not active. I don't know where to go from here.

What is the name of your CAFD?
It sounds like you have HU_NBT_EVO, rather than HU_NBT.

In HU_NBT, SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN is found in 3000 HMI, with some navigation parameters.

In HU_NBT_EVO, SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN is found in 3006 Navigation (As shown).

Either way, in those Function Data Lines (FDL's), there are three predetermined, drop-down values (nicht_aktiv, 8_kmh, and 3_kmh). Changing the werte value, will show parameter as UNKNOWN = FF. With that modification along with other parts of this multi-step coding, gives you Video in Motion.

You know your stuff

Yes its HU_NBT_EVO, and yes it's found in 3006 Navigation. I didn't know I was supposed to change the werte value as it already says not active so I didn't think much of it! When I get a chance to play with it again I'll give changing the value a try.

Thanks so much for the help!

If it works, great; otherwise, you may need these additional settings:
  • 3000 SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX werte = FF
  • 3000 SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN werte = FF
  • 3000 VIDEO_HANDBRAKE set to: nicht_aktiv
  • 3000 VIDEO_FRONT_LOCKED set to: nicht_aktiv
  • 3000 VIDEO_SPEEDLOCK_CONDITION set to: none=00
  • SPEEDLOCK_SPEEDVALUE_MIN: Werte = 1F
  • UNBELEGT (below the above): Werte = 07
  • SPEEDLOCK_SPEEDVALUE_MAX: Werte = 3F
  • UNBELEGT (below the above): Werte = 03

For detailed instruction with pictures, see "Change Werte" pdf. Though, basic steps as follows: Right Click Werte > Select Edit > Change value in "Values from ECU" box below > Select "Apply Changes" Icon to Right > Select "Save Icon" to write changes to *.ncd.
  • Note: change drop-down menus or Werte values, NOT both. Drop-down values will automatically change wertes.
  • Any werte value—other than one corresponding to a predefined, drop-down—will result in an option read as “UNKNOWN” when viewed again.

Many Thanks

I have been coding on my 2017 330i and appreciate the utility of cheat codes created and shared by you.

I am still attempting to enable VIM, and missing something in either coding Werte values, or subsequent speedlock deactivation.

Any additional insight will be greatly appreciated.

2017 can't do it by just a speedlock coding.
