New member introduction M235i San Diego area

Hi everybody,
I'm Nico, a French living in the Southern California. After many months of reading this very interesting forum and learning a lot about the 2 series thanks to the amazing community, I finally decided to buy one for myself to enjoy sunny San Diego!
So here it is, a white 2015 M235i convertible. It has a bunch of nice options such as Harman Kardon audio system, technology package, premium package, and parking assistance package and extended Bluetooth connectivity.
For the modifications in the coming months, I'm planning to add:
- a stubby antenna
- black kidney grills
- LCI taillights
- CarPlay but I have to figure out if it's a software update or if I need a hardware retrofit
- M Perf diffuser and Exhaust

Congrats and welcome. My favorite mod to the car so far is the BM3 flash tune.

Hi Nico. Congrats on the car - she looks great! I got my ‘16 m235i vert in April. I’d like to do the same upgrades you mentioned above. I haven’t found a clear answer on the CarPlay addition yet. Enjoy the ride & keep us posted!

Thanks guys! This car is amazing… and this sound 😍

For the CarPlay, considering the options I have, Steve from codemybimmer told me that I would have to do a full ID6 retrofit which cost $1000+, so I have to think a little bit more about my priorities… I was expecting/hoping a lighter retrofit options and/or a software update.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better area to own a ragtop than San Diego. Literally 12 months of driving top down. My favorite mod is the Smarttop module for our convertibles here:

Increased range for the key fob, one touch operation and a lot of other improvements. Only regret that I waited over a year to install.
