Talking New Product Agency Power Paddle Shifter Extensions

Agency Power’s Paddle Shifters are a must for every vehicle that has flappy paddles on the steering wheel! Why, because stock is boring and you need to have better control of your shifts no matter where your hands are. The manual transmission is slowly fading away and in its place are Formula1 inspired dual clutch gear boxes that shifter faster than you can think. For most, you put it in Drive and just let the car handle the gear changes. But for those that want to bang through the gears, the vehicles manual mode is where it is at. Smacking the up or down paddles to change gears gives an exhilarating feeling. But not every driver is going straight or has their hands on 9 and 3 o’clock. For those that are handling the track and its vicious curves, you need to be able to grab a gear at all times. The Agency Power Paddle Shifter Extensions allow this to become a reality.
Designed for easy installation as an add-on piece to your factory unit, the extensions usually add 1-2 inches on the top and bottom of the factory paddle shifter. They attach with provided double sided tape or some utilize a small set screw for a secure fit. Designed from billet aluminum or cast aluminum, each left and right paddle shifter is engineered to be ergonomically correct to enhance your driving experience. Agency Power has not only created a functioning product, but has taken the individuality of the aftermarket world by providing our paddles in different colors. The paddles are done in a unique Cerakote finish which is durable like powdercoat, but soft and will not fade like anodizing. Each paddle features a laser engraved AP logo and a distinct and – sign.
If you are looking to improve your Grip and Shift, then the Agency Power Paddle Shifter Extension are ready for your vehicle!

A solution to a problem that does not exist? Why not just make an actual replacement for the paddle shifters?

I drove a 435 GC with these (or something nearly identical) installed a while back. For those who drive with hands at 9/3 like I do, I found the added thickness to be a bit of an annoyance when sliding fingers between the paddles and stalk controls. There's just less room there.

If you're a 10/2 driver you'll see benefit from the longer paddle and not encounter this issue, but just something to be mindful of for 9/3 folks where this may not be an ideal solution.

Interesting observation, never thought of it.
It does make sense

I am sure after a few days it wouldn't be as problematic once you got used to it - and like I said 9/3 drivers probably aren't the target market for this product anyway.

For 9/3 folks who want bigger paddles I think you're looking at other BMW OEM replacements or something like AutoTecknic that's a replacement vs an add-on.

Sorry but I really don't like the looks of them. If they replaced the existing paddles maybe but added on top...not for me.

Agreed. Maybe limited space, but if you at least put it over the front of the paddle then you wouldn't see the oem and and it would look way better.

Don't think there's enough room there to actually have the paddle function unless your top fit idea is VERY thin at the middle. Seems the best options are either OEM from a different car or aftermarket like Autotecknic.

I don't understand how people like these add-on paddles. They look so cheap and ugly, why not replace the whole paddle?

Here's the problem: the stock paddles in the F22 are too short (designed for ladies with long finger nails). I agree, however, that the APP stick-on solution, though simple to install, doesn't look right, is too bulky, and may actually fail over time (since it relies on 2-sided 3M tape). As usual, BEM-S4 is my saviour and suggests the Autotecknic. Anyone have any feedback re Autotecknic: ease of install (require removal of airbag in steering wheel, cost, look, do they actually extend the paddle or merely widen it, etc.)? I've bought out the lease on my M240i and the stock paddles have got to go!

I have the AT paddles on all my cars, they are MUCH better. Install is a bit of a PITA because you need to pull the airbag, beyond that it's very easy. You reuse most of the stock paddle mechanism, the clicker part, and replace the paddle itself.

The paddles are bigger and the rear of them has a bit of a lip, they feel much better than the stock ones.

Airbag aside 2/10 install difficulty. While the airbag is out also a good time to have your wheel redone if it's a bit tired. Dallas Custom did mine.

BEM-S4, how r things bro? How expensive are the AT's? Where can I buy them. Most importantly, my biggest beef with the OEM paddles is they are too hard to reach from the steering wheel! Most folks want the paddle to be taller from top to bottom (so u can more readily access it when not in the ideal 9-3 position), but I'm more concerned about extending them outwards more towards the steering wheel (I have a hard time reaching the OEM paddles with my fingers when in the common 9-3 position). BMW salesperson suggests this was done to accommodate the ladies with long fingernails, but I'm not buying it. How do the AT's stack up to the OEM in terms of this reach? I'm toying with going for the cheap stick-on extensions not only due to low cost but also because they extend the reach a tad. Thoughts?
