OBD won't connect to car after taking it to BMW dealership for part replacement?
hi so i ended up going to BMW to get my spark plugs changed cause my car was idling weird (my car isn't under any warranty or anything i'm just out of town and wanted to get them fixed before the long drive home) and now my car won't connect at all to the tuning software. I've tried 3 different tuning softwares and all of them won't connect. They mentioned my tune and said i should put it back to stock cause that might help it but i said i'm not going too and to just do the spark plugs. It connected perfectly fine before taking it there that same day 5 min before i got there but now all of a sudden it doesn't connect at all and i've tried for 30 min and it doesn't connect. It shows the ethernet in the settings of my phone and my phone even charges through the adapter so it's obviously working but it won't connect. Do you think they did something so i can't connect to my car anymore?

no, just coinkidence , I had a similar problem, with using reingold/ista/inpa a few years ago, thought the same thing, the cable was faulty.
I mean it's a possibility but I very much doubt it, I don't know WHAT they or even you can do, to stop the OBD working, because anything they do, will also stop them using the OBD port for there computer diagnostics |
