Fuse Box Location

Can anyone tell me where the fusebox is located for in my 20 f23 cab

on the 1 series it used to be in the glovebox
somone said there are 2 one in the trunk the other in the engine bay

I'm having a dash cam installed, and wanna make sure they dont chop any wires or "tap in"

The one in the trunk is the main one. In the engine bay there should be some under the plastic battery cover. I was not able to find a listing of which was where, but if you are doing a new fuse specifically for your install (using an empty/not used fuse) versus using a fuse tap your best bet is in the trunk.

thanks,

no what I meant was I don't want them to "cut into an existing wire" but take a fuse tap (adapter) like the did previously. Last time the fuse box was in the glove box so really easy.

txs!

There are 2 main fuse boxes as you said (hood and trunk), and something like 4 other modules with fuse panels.

If you're doing a dashcam hardwire, you might get battery drain messages unless you wire into the FEM directly.
It's located under the front passenger kick panel/carpet, I followed the process from BMW's own Advanced Car Eye dashcam instructions:

Red (power) to #20
Yellow (accessory) to #33
Black (ground) to #24

Hmm not sure, I'm happy with them tapping into that, although point taken about battery drain messages. On mine, I have a software option for 2 things, sentry mode (i.e. when not driving) and a voltage sensor to switch off if the battery goes below a certain point

on mine I didn't have sentry mode and just used it for driving.

I can keep an eye on battery drain from ista/inpa and monitor it if I have any issues
txs for the insight

Thanks for this idea. So I checked out the original installation instructions... it is fairly ghetto from BMW, which them splicing into the cable harness with those connectors instead of just providing a plug on that stupid control module for the dashcam.

Anyway I think you may have mixed up pin 20 and pin 33. Pin 33 is the supply
