Exhaust Recommendations for BMW M240i

One of the key upgrades I'm considering is an exhaust system that provides an aggressive, sporty sound without being overly raspy. I'd also like to retain the stock valve functionality so I can switch between a more aggressive tone and a slightly less aggressive mode that isn't as much of a nuisance for others. I seem to be liking how the Remus works and sounds but I want to explore other options before pulling the trigger.

So I'm reaching out to tap into the collective wisdom and experience of every 2addict out there. I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations on which exhaust system would best fit my preferences.

I like the sound of M Performance (MPE) the best so I went with that. Plenty of sound clips on YouTube

I have the MPE and VRSF catless downpipe. It's loud enough when I want it to be and it can be very quiet. It is a little raspy though because of the downpipe. If I were to start again I would go with a high flow catted downpipe. I have heard good things about the Remus exhaust.

Dinan cat back with stock cat.
Perfect for my taste. Picked one up from a forum member a couple years back.

I do very much enjoy the sound of the Dinan. If it retained that valve then it would be perfect I think.

The valve delete was not an issues for me. Run in comfort mode and don't get on her it's quite. Sport or S+ with aggressive foot she sounds wonderful.
Whatever you pic will be a great improvement over stock. Even a resonator delete is an good upgrade.

I went Remus non-res catback and an AA catted downpipe. Retains stock valve functionality and has a really nice tone to it. Deeper with no rasp. Super quiet in comfort mode. But can get pretty damn rowdy in sport mode.

There needs to be a less expensive option. The profit margin on these exhausts are ridiculous..

Makes me laugh, driving a $50k car and complaining about a cat back in the $1800 range. These are not high volume Honda Civics, sure you could rig a cheap exhaust - and sounds like utter crap. Even bought 2nd hand parts for these cars cost a little more plain and simple. You should look at the part prices for some other really high performance cars.

😆 🤣 😂

And those exhausts are even more over priced. The bmw tax is stupid.. and most of these 1800 exhausts still sound like crap or are too heavy etc.
