Quite the brute of an SUV, but there's something cool about it. I think it will sell well, but I suppose that'll depend on the degree(s) of deviation from concept to production.

Question - is the production going to be this identical? I know the m8 concept vs production was toned way down.

there’s a few things I don’t hate and wouldn’t mind trickling down into the rest of the range but overall they aren’t talking to the sensibilities of past/present bmw enthusiasts - it’s the look at me Urus audience they’re after (expressive lifestyle )

I agree, I'm a fan of it though. So aggressive, this makes everything else it will compete with look like they're wearing panties….

I will reserve judgement until I see it in person. But, If this is the future of BMW's design direction, I might have to join my wife on Team Porsche…

BMW is doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing. Setting up to make millions/billions for their next "BMW" generation. I'm sure our grand and great grandfather's would look at the F06 M6 or F86 X6M with the same confusion, but look how great they sold and how iconic they are. They (BMW) aren't making cars for us anymore they are making cars for the future us and our children who are into the looks and styles that the new cars come with. I take my hat off to BMW for always leading the charge for innovation and technology as well as breathtaking designs no matter what our personal opinion of them are.

I was really looking forward to this vehicle. I think it has potential, and as someone else said, certain angles are gorgeous and others hideous. Side profile looks great. Little subtle nods to M history too, like the roundels and shape at the top of the back glass, tip of the cap to the M1. I'll be very interested to see how they tone it down for the production version…

That is hideous and ridiculous!
And, the dual badges on the back as a nod to the M1. LMAO!!!

They will probably sell loads of them...

As long as they keep making good looking, sporty coupes, I don't care what they have to sell to do it. I hope lots of people with bad taste, and money to throw away, buy many of them.

Good grief!
Please just tell me it's a bad dream.
I can't believe it's a same company that made E46, m6gc and I8.

That's really hot. Finally a design language that can set BMW apart as modern and sporty instead of Mercedes classic boring look.

Part of me hates because there is almost nothing BMW about it, it but part of me also thinks it's not as bad as I expected it to be. Looks like something out of Halo, similar design ethos as the Cybertruck.

Everybody I know who drives a BMW are the type of people who will find this cool. We on this forum often forget that we are the only purist types out there. The average BMW customer gives zero f*cks about brand legacy, steering feel, etc. and doesn't even know which wheels power the car or what engine is under the hood. They are the target demographic for this model.

Anybody recall the Hummer Hx concept from the mid-2000s? Very similar vibes.
