new m240i owner!
Just traded in my 2016 X3 for a sunset orange m240i xdrive a couple of weeks ago! I owned a manual 135is before that and I'm thankful to be back in a coupe! I can't wait till the break-in period is over.
I was lucky grab the only sunset orange xdrive in norcal! Other goodies included - leather seats (feel much better than the sensatec I had before) - moonroof delete (never use em), - black wheels and kidney grille (love the look) - carbon fiber mirror caps - nav Other included bits that I'm neutral on: - M performance side sill decals - 'M' LED door projectors I love the look of the car. The only area that could use some work is the rear end. A carbon fiber rear spoiler and m-performance rear diffuser would improve the look and maybe that's something I will consider further on down the line. Here are some quick pics I took on my way back home from the dealership... |

Congratulations! This is my favorite color and actually my first choice. The only reason I did not get it was because I had the opportunity to get one of the 65 M240i Performance Edition which came to the U.S.

Congrats. My car came with the MP Side Sill Decals also, along with MP Exhaust and Diffuser and MP Black Kidney Grills, all items I would never have considered adding to a car I had ordered or found on the lot without them. That said, they have grown on me and I actually really like the look of the side sill decals, to the point I'd consider them again. In your case they look quite good especially with the black wheels. I know lots of folks love the MP Black Kidney Grills, but they are my least favorite MP addition and I don't think I pay extra for that "upgrade" if given the option.

Sure, here's one I took last fall with the winter tires and wheels just mounted.

Looks awesome. I'm a fan of the MP rocker panel decals, personally. Sadly though, mine are still sitting in a box because I haven't made it a priority to get them installed on my m240i. I do think the decals look better when installed together with the MP rocker blades (side skirt aero add-on) when the blades are painted to match body color. See pic below for reference. Looks more like a stripe and is reminiscent of the black plastic body moulding/trim that IMO made the e36 and e46 look so damn unique/sporty/classy. Without the painted rocker blade add-ons, and especially with black wheels, it almost looks like the car is floating on a big black shadow. Still adds a nice sporty and aggressive touch, but the painted rocker blades definitely complete the look on a car with black wheels. Just my opinion, of course.
Anyway, congrats on the new car! These are amazing and practical little coupes for sure. I know you will enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

tirerack.com 17" square with Michelin X-ice and MSW Type 55 wheels. I like the simple 5 spoke wheel design for winter as they are easier to clean than some of the more intricate wheel designs. I am very pleased. We get more ice than snow where I live and this set-up has worked very well the past two winters. I used to be an "All Season" tire guy, not seeing the value or hassle of two sets or wheels and tires, but I am a believer now.
