I thought and actually got upset that a Dodge Ram would whip onto the shoulder at the light as if to pass me and gun it as if he was really going to leave me at the light. I believe he now realizes that an M240 is not a joke. Screw your Hemi guy!

I thought about how long a lizard can survive inside my car, after a little one made quite the vertical leap from my driveway to just in front of my clutch pedal. It then ran to where I couldn't reach it after trying to scoop him out of the car.

I then remembered that a couple of his buddies also seem to like my car lately, or are just using me as a taxi service.

I've occasionally thought about installing minimal Dinan piggy-back tuner, but finally talked myself out of it. My car runs great and has more than enough power in stock form.

I've been hearing of enough trouble with tunes to make me think it might not be that great an idea. And it's not like people are running away from me anyway ...

If you're gonna screw around with your $50k+ car it's worth spending the extra to get the full Dinan installed at a BMW dealer. Much more peace of mind.

Until you find that the dealer no longer works with Dinan due to repeated quality issues! They will continue to install aftermarket "hard parts" but now refuse to work with software-based mods.

While I'm waiting for my appointment for chargepipe and intercooler upgrades to be installed, I've been thinking about stainless steel brake lines for the improved pedal feel. However, from what I've been reading about risks and benefits, I've come to the conclusion to pass.

Install Dinan springs that I can leave on the car and not bother if I ever swith to another car..

VS

Fork more $$ and go KW V3 and have to remove/reinstall stock when I switch..

I'd heard that these may be redundant (many modern hi-po cars have equivalent no-flex lines already, just with Kevlar instead of the cosmetic SS weave), but had not heard any specific downsides to the aftermarket pieces. What downsides had you heard of?

Haven't heard of anything either. Haven't had any issues with my StopTech lines either. The pedal feel is much improved.

This is just one example, and if you google and read about failures versus benefits, it does raise a concern. This guy is very logical, rational, and persuasive for me.

I got my car exactly one year ago today, and when driving it this morning, I thought, this car still drives just as great as the day I was given the keys.

I enjoy my Dinantronics Sport (had it for 3 months now). The extra power, especially in Sport+ and Race is clearly felt. The throttle response is much better as well, even in the Comfort modes. My only gripe is that when my Android phone updated to Oreo last month, I lost the ability to change boost settings with the Dinan app because there's a glitch in the Bluetooth functionality with the Dinan app and running Oreo. Dinan has known about this issue since January and hasn't done anything about it. Luckily I've got an older tablet and I can change the boost settings that way.

Well, cool.

Question: Did the Sport tuner improve the very slight turbo lag just off idle? I know I’m being picky because it is a very small issue, but just curious.

I wouldn't say it did. If anything, since the boost comes on stronger and more rapidly (especially in the Sport throttle settings), it can make the car feel a bit more turbocharged if you punch it hard below 3000rpms and/or it's really hot out. Basically some of the linear power delivery BMW strives to deliver with these turbos is lost. It's not more laggy through. If you use the Sport setting on the tuner (about 2psi over stock), the power delivery is quite close to stock. The Sport+ and Race settings are more apparent in terms of effecting linearity. I actually prefer it as it makes for a more dramatic driving experience. I'm not saying the turbo is like a light switch either. The car is still completely fine on the street and manageable. My prior car was a mildy tuned 2012 WRX. That car was fun, but definitely was the definition of turbo lag. I don't have to drive the M235 around the lag like I did with my old WRX.

While driving on a twisty country road, I'm thinking:

"Man, I'm really liking 300+ ft./lbs. of torque at only 1400 RPM!"

Why isn't there a cutout under the center armrest to feed cords through. Whenever my wife is charging her phone but wants to use it, I lose my arm rest!

I can easily close the arm rest on an iPhone cord. And anyway there's only about a millionth of an amp in that port. I have a dual USB plug in the rear seat power outlet.

I mean I can close it, but it always crushes the cord when I do it
