Thanks, we are really looking forward to completing break-in so we can really see what this car can do. We only have 350 kms so far and the car is very smooth and comfortable. Sport/sport plus tightens things up and the car becomes more lively, but not to the point of becoming harsh. Cowell shake is almost non existant even running over texas gates and broken pavement, a vast improvement over the VW Cabrio we used to own.
I'm not a pro, but have dabbled in some higher end home/car audio in the past and the HK unit is okay. It could use a little more power, especially in the convertible with the roof off. As you turn up the volume it becomes fatiguing, and looses some clarity and smoothness, but is FAR better than the 15 Wrx unit we used to own, even though that unit had an equaliser and proper sub. The 19" 405m wheels do transfer a bit more road "feel" and after doing some research I believe they are produced by BBS wheels, so I'm hoping they hold up and do not bend. The BMW wheel warranty covers BOTH the factory wheels and the M perf wheels against damage, part of the reason we bought these instead of aftermarket rims. If anyone has any questions about the m240i x drive convertible please let me know and I will do my best to answer your questions. Last edited by cdn240cab; 11-08-2016 at 09:15 AM.. |

My son's inheriting my '16 M235xi next year and I plan to getting the '18 M240xi (LCI) cabrio with MG exterior, terra interior as I'm getting tired of having silver exterior - black interior like my last 5 bimmers have been. My wife like black, but she's O.K. with going with a red interior, but thinks terra interior will not look good. I think it will. A couple of good pics could help change her mind. TIA.

Thanks!
We put 700 kms on and then it went away for winter. Can't wait for the warmer weather and pothole repair crews to do their thing so we can start driving it again. |

Sorry about the late reply. Our 405m rims were part of the deal we made when we purchased the car, so I'm not sure what they would cost if you bought them by themselves . I would think you should be able to negotiate at least $500 off msrp though.

Sweet car! Congrats! We just picked up a 2017 M240 Cabriolet Estoril Blue just down the road from you, in Edmonton. The only mod I've done so far is the Stage 1 Dinan kit. I traded in a 2015 M235i M performance edition. I really wanted a convertible when I bought the M235 but talked myself out of it, living in Alberta and all lol But leaving the roof up is always an option too.

How do you like your Dinan? I spoke to our local BMW dealer, who claim to be an authorised Dinan dealer, and they do not want to install the Dinantronics Elite because our car is new. Did you order yours through Dinan or your BMW dealer? Did you install yourself or did you have it installed? I wonder how difficult it would be to install myself? Post a couple pics of your car if you have a chance, I love the blue but my wife didn't want to attract too much attention. Check out my instagram page for more pics of our car. https://www.instagram.com/m240iconvertible/ |

I ordered mine through Edmonton BMW and they installed it but the install looks super easy. I figured if they installed it and there was any issues like error codes or whatever they would make it right. So far I haven't really been able to use it fully (low KMs) but I can say there's a HUGE difference coming from my unmodified M235. Once I can really open it up I'm pretty sure it'll be awesome. The blue really pops and it's easy to keep clean my M235 was black which wasn't easy to keep clean.

Just love those wheels!
We have a 235 xdrive vert, and were soooo tempted to get those wheels but were afraid how they would hold up with our crappy roads here in New Jersey, and after 20k miles of hitting potholes with the standard wheels unfortunately I think we made the right decision. But those wheels look oh so good :-) Were your earlier photos from the Icefields Parkway? We where at Lake Louise skiing about 15 years ago and took a day off in the middle of our trip and drove up to Jasper. Perhaps the most spectacular drive I've ever made, and one I'll never forget... |

Those photos above were taken on Hwy 40 West of Calgary in Kananaskis provincial park close to Spray Lakes. We are blessed with an abundance of stunning roads and scenery near Calgary, but I do agree with you the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper is one of the best, especially in a convertible. |
