Yes.
Simplest answer is. Think of it like this. resonator eliminates drone. Muffler for volume and tone.

I have a VRSF catless downpipe and the Dinan Resonator delete with the stock muffler on my m235i. I think it sounds great! I wouldn't say there was too much drone. Driving normally I sometimes notice some in the lower RPM's in low gears but its 100% bearable. And no drone at cruising speeds. Its not bad at all.

I deleted both resonators on my M240i midpipe and there is zero drone whatsoever, as someone who is very, VERY sensitive to drone.
It does pop quite a bit in Sport mode. The amount of pops during deceleration wasn't expected.
