Purchased a new oil filter cap - Brand Febi-Bilstein Germany -- but made in China. Box has Febi-Bilstein Germany & Made in China


Part is different from OE in that the Cap dimensions are different. I will be returning to FCP Euro for OE because my oil filter cap wrench won't even fit - yes the wrench is a BMW Original part # 119240

I guess this would be another example as to why buy only OE or BMW Plastic Parts like VC & gaskets. (add this to the list)

My 86mm wrench with 16 flats will NOT Fit on FEBI but fits with precision on the BMW OE Part.

So I grew up with spin on filters that needed a band-style wrench, but it was generally universal for all of them.

That a filter cap intended for a wrench would not just use a regular standard socket size is bizarre, but really the whole concept of a "BMW OE oil filter cap wrench" blows my mind.

To their Credit - FCP has already shipped out a NEW OE BMW Part.

They did not even want the FEBI Oil Filter Cap back.
