Anyone have any luck with 16" winter wheels on 228i M Sport?
Just wondering if anyone had 16" wheels for the winter on a 228i with M Sport. Seems like the BMW approved winter package listed on their website has 16" wheels but they're going for $2,400 so I was wondering if I'd be able to similar aftermarket or steel wheels fit on at that size.
Also heard the base 228i, the M Sport, and M Sport with M Sport brakes all have different brake setups. Is this true? I was under the impression that the base 228i and M Sport 228i (without the M Sport brakes) had the same braking system. |

If you're concerned about cost, I'd recommend against going with BMW "approved" winter packages from BMW. I got my 17" with Blizzaks for $1100 shipped, mounted and balanced from tirerack. |

Maybe I can order the same 16" alloy rims from a third party. They're 16" 411 5-spokes. Would be nice to be able to get 16" tires for the conditions and potholes here, not to mention they'll be cheaper. Costco and Canadian Tire also seems to have 17" grey steel rims.

I think m sport brakes are different than the base brakes but they're not the m brakes with the blue calipers.
I have 17" winter setup on my m sport 228i and it is tight tight up front...cant fit my wheel cleaning brush between the caliper and wheel. |
