Obtaining iDrive software update

Long story short, I would like to do a fresh install of the latest version of idrive on my 2020 M240. I visited the bmw update website and it says I have the latest and greatest. However the remote access via my connected app haven't been working since day 1 I own the car. BMW dealer took the car for troubleshooting and told me that I am the few unfortunate owners whose cars are having problem and have to wait for the next software update.

I am wondering if I can get my hands on the current version and see if I can force a reinstall to see if it will solve the problem. (of cos I suggested that to my dealer and they say its not possible.)

The updates on the BMW website only address the head unit (particularly Bluetooth Connectivity). If you need a full software update on all of the control units, this can only be done at the dealer and it does take up a service bay for half a day which is why the dealers prefer not to do this unless absolutely necessary.
