Can you not just check dealer inventory on individual website? They list vin numbers.

I tried once, and the site just said invalid VIN. Maybe the know when a car isn't yet sold?

So again, if anybody would be kind enough to PM their last 7 vin (you know there's nothing that can be done with that? Just to lookup options...), I have a hunch the site then would display newer updates (given this 003 version deal)

It doesn't matter if the car was sold or not....

what is the latest version that people have installed? my 2016 M235i xdrive (with tech package, 10/2015 production) has media: MB-001.050.002, phone: TB-001.050.002 versions. these versions seem newer than the ones listed here. i'm not sure what was the installed version at delivery time and whether it has been updated since. i do know that my idrive was reset at my dealer last month during service and since then i've been having ConnectedDrive problems (sending/receiving locations, IFTTT integration).

There's a 003-xxx-xxx out there, that you'd get if you go into a dealer and get it coded

i don't get why there are so many versions, and shouldn't the software be updated OTA?
