Resonated Downpipes??

Does anyone run a resonated (catless) downpipe? I saw that AR Design (and probably others) make a resonated version. I have seen a few videos of them on M4s and various videos of resonated exhausts. I have yet to see a video or a post of any 2 series owners running a resonated DP.

If so, do these sound better/less rasp/lower tone?

Is catted worth doing if it is not the Fabspeed/HJS cats?

Thanks for the info, and feel free to point me to where resonated has been addressed anywhere else, as I couldn't find it.

Hi,
resonated is supposed to give you the benefits of the catless downpipe when it comes to air flow and sound aggressiveness without the rasp.

As for catted options,
If you have a piggyback or no tune, get Fabspeed since it guarantees no CEL.

If you have a flash tune, our most popular option is Wagner Tuning since they use Euro 6 quality cats.

Another good option would be VRSF

I had the AR, you still get the loudness/smell of a catless but reduced drone. I have their catted version and I still get a CEL

so the ar catted downpipe still has a significant smell? are you comparing to a catless?

as for drone, is it still there drone as compared to a catless, or is it eliminated with the catted?

I've never had a downpipe before but it's not bad I think and the wife doesnt complain. As far as drone, I have a stock exhaust otherwise so itll be different

Going Catted or Resonated will reduce drone and smooth out sound.

that is my assumption as well, but i'm looking for some real reviews from someone who was sensitive to catless who went catted of whether a high flow cat has ANY drone and any noticable smell.

ever since going catless, there is a very noticable drone and uncomfortable vibration at 2-2.5k rpm on the n55 and the smell is obnoxious. i don't have a leak if that's what you're wondering and there is no interference with any other component.

if you're one to think there is no drone with catless and the smell is not noticeable, you need not reply, i was already fooled once.
