This is a genuine 2 series screen so no ugly gaps at the back as you get with 3 series screens!

How will this work? On a 6.5" non nav car, I imagine it just keeps the same basic functions (no nav) except bigger screen? Any software update needed?

No nav but the split screen function is much more functional with the bigger size and the graphics of the display are much better. Also the screen has a lower profile so does not poke up in your view as much. Many good threads on the board describing the difference with some pictures. In terms of coding there are 2 entries that you have to change and the Bimmercode app does this (and many other cool things) very easily. Truthfully this and the control over the codes was the best mod I did to my car. Others on the board seem to agree.....
