Error message

Drive moderately. Drive train malfunction. Performance may be reduced.
No check engine. Thoughts?

Drivetrain malfunction is a broad range CEL but the most common I've seen was with the ignition coils and/or plugs. What year and how many miles does your car have? Mods? If your have higher mileage or a tune, it might be time to replace your plugs to be proactive.

Hmm I'd start with the intake. Maybe check the hosing to make sure everything is seated properly. If it is and you still get the message, I'd completely remove it and go back to stock to see if that works. These cars don't take well to aftermarket intakes and I know INJEN's have been throwing codes. I did what most others do and just used a drop-in. Same gains if any at all but not as much noise.

Took it to BMW service and they replaced the boost pressure sensor (warranty).
