Disabling burbles on M235i without a tune
Is there any way to turn off the stock burble/pops on an f22 m235i? I saw Bimmerlink was able to do this but only for cars with the S55, and I don't want to spend 600 dollars just to disable the burbles. If I do have to buy a tune though, can I just leave all the power options stock and just disable the burble without affecting performance? Thanks.

I'm with you, i hate the loud ass cold start and the burble pops are ridiculous. I have to crawl out of my street so i don't piss off neighbors.
The day i bought it (2016 m235i) as i turned the corner of my block, some neighbors were just staring hard and i didn't know why. (had the music on) |

I'm having the opposite problem, I've lost all my burbles and trying to get it back on my stock 2016 m235i xdrive.
Since last week I’ve replaced the air filter, cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner, and did the throttle adaptation reset. No hesitation or throttle lag now, but still no pops or crackles. I then went to the stealership and requested full diagnosis. They found no codes, nothing damaged, all parameters of sensors within spec and voltage, no leaks, fuel is clean and good quality too they said. They said it drives fine but I explained all my symptoms but no luck. Only thing I haven’t done is full ECU reset by removing the battery terminals overnight. Car was bought brand new and is bone stock, I’m extremely puzzled why all of a sudden I lost my stock burbles in all driving modes of the car when it shifts or let off the gas. Doesn’t even do that nice build up turbo whoosh as you wind up and the gear changes with a whoosh and exhaust pop, just a very dull muted experience. Only when you put in park and rev it makes burbles but not as you drive. Makes me want to just sell the car now Appreciate anyone's input as to what could be the problem. |

I got crazy burbles if I Rev it in the driveway with valves open. The only way I get them driving is if I crawl through a parking lot in sport with the shifter to the left and keep gently pressing the throttle for a few rpms.
Just bought the wife a x3 m40i and it's super aggressive burbling while driving I wish mine was haha. And I have a valvetronic exhaust |
