M235i awkward wheel placement
Hello everyone. I’m new to the F22 world. I had a 1 series for 3.5 years and decided to get this M235i on Saturday.
So here is the weird issue. The car was involved in an accident while it was parked a few months ago. It has been fully fixed and driven for 5k miles by the time I purchased it. However today I noticed that the passenger wheel doesn’t sit centered with the wheel well. It sits closer to the door than it does to the bumper. When driving it, there are no weird vibrations, or anything at all. I’ve looked at the suspension (with the wheel removed, hence why there are only 3 lug nuts on) and I see nothing wrong. I’m going crazy while I drive it knowing that the wheel is sitting about half an inch further back than it should be. Any help is highly appreciated!! P.S. I am absolutely loving this car |

Yikes! Not good...
And tell me you didn't buy the car with only 3 lug bolts on that wheel.... Cause if you did then this paints a very clear picture of the seller. What ELSE can be wrong with the car that you CAN'T see.... If I were you I would get a professional opinion from an alignment shop. If they say it needs work and you're willing to spend the money to fix it, it then may be a question of how much you're willing to spend. Maybe its just a control arm/tension strut/tie rod fix it or maybe it's worse like a bent front subframe. If the repair quote is too big for you consider selling it and hopefully not taking too big a loss and find one without prior accident history. Or maybe you decide to drive it like it is and see what comes of it. Then what you'll need to do is two things: 1) start saving for a tire fund because if things are off then that car will chew through tires like Oprah at a Golden Corral. And then 2)Drive it to a church to have it blessed by a priest. And while you're there, go inside and light a few candles and say a prayer to baby Jesus. |

An update for those who care. The control arm was bent, it was replaced and aligned and there is zero rubbing. My local shop that did it also recommended to replace the spindle knuckle, but for now it’s good. I have an appointment with BMW today and I’ll see what they say. I’ve attached an updated photo 😃

Oh, trust me, we care - whether or not we post to the thread.
I think the principal value of this forum is the sharing of useful information, and the thread you started fits into that.
