This is from the 2022 OktoberFAST BMWCCA HPDE event at Road America on 10/2. This is a great event, run by Badger Bimmers, at an iconic track.

This is my second fastest lap of the weekend, a 2:52.7. I had several laps under 2:54 this weekend, beating my best times from previous years. I had a 2:51.4 in the morning, my personal best. But it was a very loose and sloppy lap, and I nearly went off in Canada corner. The only reason it was faster than this lap is that my car makes more power in the cold morning air.

I'm chasing my friend Glenn in his JCW Mini this lap. I've got a bit more speed than he does, but he is faster in the corners. He has gotten so much faster in the past two years that we are very evenly matched. Guess I just need to improve more. With practice, I think I have a 2:50 in me.

Do you happen to know what your on-track weight is and your rear wheel power (e.g., from a NASA-approved dyno)? If so, how does that compare to the Mini's same data?

I have no idea on the weight or power of my car. But everything is box stock on the engine. And I've done nothing to reduce weight except pulling the usual loose stuff out of the car. So, it's likely near the published specs.

I do know that Glenn has done a lot of suspension work on his car. And a mild tune wouldn't surprise me. Yeah, that's it. It must be the mods on his car.
