CTS Turbo intake install question

For the CTS Turbo intake, one of the mounting points for the heat shield is under a small plastic cover that protects two connectors. Looking towards the engine bay, the cover should sit right behind the heat shield. However, after removing the plastic cover and mounting the heat shield, I don’t see any way that plastic cover would be able to fit back in.

For those who’ve installed this intake, we’re you able to get that plastic cover to fit behind the heat shield?

I don't think mine fit either, pretty sure I just threw it on a shelf.
