I thought ride quality would suffer a bit after mounting the larger wheels and lower profile tires, but just the opposite occurred. The Continental ECS's are pretty amazing. Grip and ride quality are both noticeably improved, and they are way more compliant over small bumps and imperfections in the road. I'll never go back to MPSS tires with these on the market, and I can't see how the MPS4S would be worth the significant price jump.

I definitely need an alignment now, as I get very minor vibrations at 75+ mph and a very slight pull to the right, otherwise I'm extremely happy.

Overall, every bit as good as the kit that was on my S3, and I'm a lot happier with the drop on the front tires on this car. Much more uniform.

Hi,
I'm also looking to get these because they offer stock ride height with zero lowering. Can you please confirm that's the case?

I was also interested in little to no drop. I'd been in contact with https://excelerateperformance.com/ which is a US retailer of MSS but they couldn't confirm with me the adjustable height range of this kit.

I found it here:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-modular-...2cp-space-~ms/

There's no info regarding whether these are firmer than stock. Or if so how much....

I'm also wondering if these are on par with OEM quality. I don't wanna put just anything on.

Well that's interesting.. ecstuning shows a different design for the rear springs! The adjuster is now at the top with a separate spring spacer/holder lower down between the helper spring and main spring. Should be much easier for adjustment.

As opposed to:

I've only driven MSS' M140i for 15 minutes, but it was less firm than my M235i with M Performance Springs and Bilstein B4 Damptronic shocks. Probably not a fair comparison.

....

found more detailed instructions PDF (see attached PDF)

it appears the adjusters are made by Aalco in Southampton: www.aalco.co.uk

....

for those with an M240i and possibly M235i(?) there appears to be two different part numbers for F22's.

F22's:
02aBMW2F22CP (F22 - Coupe)
02aBMW2F23CB (F23 - Convertible)
https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/prod...wering-springs
"If you have a M240i, we would recommend the MSS BMW F22/F23 M240i Height Adjustment Ride Management"

F22 M240i's:
02aBMWM240CP (F22 - Coupe M240i)
02aBMWM240CB (F23 - Convertible M240i)
https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/prod...wering-springs

and..

F20/21's:
02aBMW1F20HB (F20 - 5 Door Hatchback)
02aBMW1F21HB (F21 - 3 Door Hatchback)

F21 M140i's:
02aBMWM140HB (M140i - 3 Door Hatchback)

Does anyone know what the difference is?

I bought them second-hand (but checked at ETK for compatibility with my car), but if you can't buy them from a dealer you can buy them from here:

https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...1-33-6-860-630

https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...3-53-6-860-619

MP Springs (for my car):
31 33 6 860 630
33 53 6 860 619

Interestingly for M240i's I found that ETK showed that only the front springs are to be changed for M Performance springs option (SZP5A).

European RHD, 2WD:

M135i std Springs: 31 33 6 851 921 & 33 53 6 851 928 MP: 31 33 6 860 629 & 33 53 6 860 619 (Passive only)
M235i std Springs: 31 33 6 865 634 & 33 53 6 865 637 MP: 31 33 6 860 630 & 33 53 6 860 619
M240i std Springs: 31 33 6 865 635 & 33 53 6 865 637 MP: 31 33 6 860 630 (Front only!) 31 33 6 860 631 if ZP Auto
M140i std Springs: 31 33 6 865 634 & 33 53 6 865 638 MP: 31 33 6 860 630 & 33 53 6 860 620

Apologies for being off topic

I just called dealer. They told me I already have the M perf adaptive suspension. There's nothing firmer straight from the BMW factory. I'll have to go aftermarket.

They're talking rubbish, unless your car came with M Performance Springs from the outset (unlikely). Your car would have come with M Sport springs on adaptive.

If you have black springs they are the M Sport, if they are Red they are the M Performance Springs. Your dealer is most likely getting confused between Sport and Performance.

Hey,
You mind giving an update on how the car handles now? You on stock dampers and sway bars?

Still deciding on pulling the trigger on these for my M240i. I'm on stock dampers. Do you think the MSS springs are much stiffer than stock? The stock rear springs are stiff from factory which I like. But, the front springs are way too soft. I'm hoping the front MSS springs are much stiffer. Rear can be stiffer too.

I'm wondering if dampers will wear out faster and should replace at the same time. Only 29k miles on them though. Still feel new.

Thanks

I was sent the wrong item and had a huge hassle where I returned them and waited months for a new set to be shipped, never happened and then they held onto my money for another month. Never shopping at XLR8 Performance again. I went with KW DDC coilovers instead.

Sorry to hear you had such a poor experience. This is obviously totally unacceptable. KW DDC is a major investment. How does your car handle now?

Anyone else with details on how the MSS springs changed the driving dynamics on M240i/M235i?

Could you elaborate on the 3-series hubs? Do you have a part number?

And what camber plates are you on? Did the MSS springs have any interference?

The reference to hub swap and camber plates was to my 1 series track setup. I have had no issues with clearance on my 228 with the MSS spring even running the 245/275 setup. No rubs anywhere.

I pulled the trigger and ended up getting Vorshlag camber plates and Turner front and rear sways bars with SPL end links. I can now really pitch the car really hard when taking turns. It is quite a nice set up. My alignment is now really good before I had some tramlining. It is completely gone. I have them set at stock height and it still clears my drive way and there is massive improvements its night and day. I may get some more SPL parts, bushings, and new Bilstein B6's. Can't wait till a track day at Big Willow.
