More down pipe confusion...
My last post I asked about identifying a stock downpipe. I decided to order a CTS downpipe from x-ph. I finally got my car on some ramps and this is what I find... please any insight would be appreciate as I’d like to utilize BM3 for a stage 2 93 tune but I have no clue what’s going on with my downpipe lol.

Please send the pictures to support@x-ph.com and we will file a warranty claim with CTS directly.

Bummer. Hate to see some of the weird stuff that previous owners have done to their cars. I wonder if this is an opportunity to go bigger with the exhaust and get a Dinan mid pipe as well to go with the new downpipe? Not sure what fits but maybe worth consideration. Either way something will need to change with the mid pipe to make the new DP fit.

It looks like the previous owner was missing the clamps that goes on that area and to prevent leaks, they just weld it.
One options you have is just cut out the downpipe and weld to install new downpipe |
