Trunk Open boogyman
I've been tolerating a "Trunk Open" message on Check Control and the IP with the white triangle for awhile now. The trunk lid latches, locks and unlocks properly, and releases with the interior switch or lid handle switch as it should. But still the message...
Anybody ever seen this? Anyone know where the sensor is? I can't find it. Anyone know how to clear it from Check Control? |

I have a 19' M240 and have started noticing this as well. I get in my car in morning, start it up and as I put it into reverse I notice the camera does not come on and the trunk open warning icon is on. When I check the trunk, it is indeed unlatched but I never opened it to begin with.
I keep the keys in the top drawer of our kitchen island and the car sits in the garage at night. The keys are about 15-20 feet away and I don't lock the car. I think somehow the trunk is unlatched due to a programming error within the vehicle ECU. It's happened about 3x since owning the car. I have an appointment for an O/C next week. I'm going to mention it along with a couple of other small issues.

i had this problem. i thought i might be hip-dialing the button on the fob. i put super glue on the fob, freezing it so i can't push the trunk button. the problem seems to have gone away.

I started having this problem one day while I was out. I couldn't get the trunk to stay closed and I was in a hurry. I disabled the trunk with the button in the glovebox until I could figure it out. my issue ended up being the button on my keyfob being stuck in the pressed position.
