M235 rough start/stall out on cold start
Hey guys . My 2014 m235i is having rough cold starts, to the point where today it stalled right out. After that seems great , no codes thrown. 83000kms. Just changed my spark plugs about 5000kms ago & it's been fine up until now . Any suggestions would be great !

My issue hasn't been as severe as stalling. 2014, 56669 miles. Before end of maintenance BMW service said it was plugs. No change either way. I've read some had better success with fuel - no change for me. Some report ECU firmware update have addressed. My warranty ran out before i got to that point.
I didn't search but think there might be a thread in which someone had this issue and resolved it floating in the back of mind. Please let us know if you have resolution. |

YES! Someone else with the issue. I have a thread in the N55 engine forum about the same problem:
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1648299 Here are videos of it happening: View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com 335xi Beast seems to think it might be the HPFP. I know nothing about the mechanics, so I plan to take it to my local shop (I'm at 70k and out of warranty) and leave it overnight so they can do a cold start with it plugged up. Couple questions about your problem. Does it happen every morning? Mine isn't consistent, maybe 1 out of every 10 starts, and never fully stalls, though it's come very close. Also, do you have any symptoms while you drive? My car doesn't receive or give back throttle cleanly... there's at minimum a small thud or lurch, sometimes a rapid succession of small hesitations/lurches, and occasionally a legit drop in RPMs when I let off the throttle... 2000rpm seems to be the sweet spot for problems. Curious if any of this happens with yours. |
