Rear seat seam split

Just documenting what I just found today while I was in at the dealership getting my headrest replaced that also had a leather failure. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this failure until today so not covered.

Mileage: 58,000
Year/Model: 2015/228i
Rear Seat Usage: 5 times total by a normal-sized human
Location: New Jersey
Parking Conditions: 50/50 outside and garaged
Upkeep: Routinely clean with leather cleaner/treat with conditioner

Can an upholsterer sew that to like new appearance?

Yes, I was just quoted $65 for the repair. I don't really care about the looks, just want to prevent it from splitting the entire way down. I don't think I can do it without having to do it again multiple times. $65 is worth doing it once and the hassle.
