Exclamation BM3 install tomorrow

What can I expect??

1) BM3
2) CP
3) BMS intake
4) H&R springs

My tech expects everything to be smooth but I want to get an idea of how much more power I should expect. Running on 93. Entry level stuff...

If you’re going stage 2 93 OTS, 350/380. Did you get DP as well?

Exclamation

First impressions so far are pretty impressive. Drove home yesterday and didn't get a chance to really test it out but I can certainly feel more power.

My tech says I'm probably just under 400hp but the torque is un "f" ing believable!! It pulls very hard. So for anyone on the fence with BM3 tune just get it and don't look back. Certainly the best bang for the buck.

Thanks to Mike at Extreme Power House for answering my newbie questions.

I'm glad I have a square set up on PS 4's for max grip and being able to rotate tires as I know I will be burning through rubber. I just can't imagine everyone else on Stage 2 + with all the extra's you can add to this car. You guys are INSANE! I love it!!!

Update on the tune...

Raced my wife in her 14 550xi and S-M-O-K-E-D HER...almost.

It was actually close as she was gaining since I blew her off the line. But the map my tech chose was the Transmission shift which very responsive! All in all with the "baby" stage 1 so far it's pretty darn impressive. I can't image Stage 2 with a bigger turbo, full FBO and E85, Meth, etc. I would probably end up in a tree.

I haven't dynoed it yet but the Sport display measured 380hp and 420tq so lets just say its better for sure.

I just bought a 16 m235 about a month ago and I'm looking into the bm3 flash tune. If anyone would be able to provide me a list of the recommended hardware upgrades for ST1/ST2 93 octane, I'll love you forever <3. Also this place is like heaven on earth haha I am definitely looking forward to some sick future mods and BM3 certainly seems to be the best bang for your buck.

Ah interesting, so the most important thing to get first is a charge pipe? I’m planning on doing a muffler delete next week on my new to me M235i, but was going to wait a bit to tune it.

In terms of reliability yes, i strongly recommend upgrade the charge pipe when tuning your car

Little update and feedback. Still awesome! No issues at all. Still gives the car so much torque in sport mode its ridiculous! Tried to light up the tires today in sport plus but 4s are just too sticky I suppose. Coming home from costo I raced a ninja motorcycle for about a mile, no traffic on the highway. Hit 139 before I backed it down to get off the exit. I still got the thumbs up from the ninja which was nice. He kept looking back when I hit 130 or so and of course he was feathering it. I needed a Bugatti. Fun nonetheless.

I, like you, am running Stage 1 93 on my '16 M235i and quite enjoying it! Torque to the extreme! I drove my car stock for 3 yrs. while still under warranty so I can enjoy this upgrade for the time being.
Question for you though, how are you liking the H&R springs? Do you have a current pic of your setup? Thanks!

Chris

Chris
I've had H&R on a previous 335i which at the time was a bit much but I got used to it. A bit harsher ride but nothing awful. I prefer a softer ride actually which I had Koni FSDs on my last E92 and it was probably the best car I had since it was 2012 and the steering was heavy so I felt in complete control and ride was perfect. The m235i is just ok its about the 'look" really. If I had to do it over again I would pick up a 2013 M3 DCT, valvetronic exhaust and love every second of it. Just not a big fan of bmw's breaking down on me though. Had a few 550i's and we just got rid of them because of the wonderful N63tu engines. TERRIBLE!

For now I'm content with keeping it like it for a while. Maybe next summer I might jump on an M car.

What do the springs do for the performance of the car? I have been thinking to lower my car slightly but don't know jack $hit about suspension strategy yet...

Lowering your car will mean you're farther away from the sun. Being farther away from the sun, you'll run cooler, making the car go faster. The problem will be that being lower will mean the atmosphere is thicker, so more friction from air making you slower. Of course, more air means more oxygen, which is good for combustion so you'll go faster. So, it's a bit of a mystery.

Simple. Better handling and it looks better. Ride is a bit choppy since the M235i has such a short wheel base though. I never had coilovers for an adjustable suspension as I don't track it. I just like a solid daily driver that's fun a hell to drive fast and through the twisties. The BMS intake allows you to hear the turbos as well. Sounds pretty cool under hard acceleration.

I hit up the Suspension guru's on this site for more expert assistance. Do your homework!!
