Cost of interior swap
I'm considering purchasing an M235i with a black interior because the deal is sweet, but really want one with brown or oyster. Anyone have any experience swapping an interior color? Any idea what this would cost or how difficult it is to DIY?

I actually had a 2017 2 series with black leather and ended up trading it in for a 2018 with red leather (primarily traded it in to get rid of my halogen lights). I live in the South where temperatures reach mid-upper 90s with high humidity. I hated the black leather and would never get it again, even with cooled seats. Personally, I would keep looking for one with the seats you want.

First of all I priced trading a piece of my F31 and Christ that was expensive. Sourcing from BMW is not cost effective, so you're stuck with finding a trade partner.
That said I've had an F22 and F30s with black interior, now my F23 has red and my F31 has saddle. Anything but black is so much better IMO the cabin seems a million times nicer. Funny a color can make such a difference. Long way of saying hold out for a color combo you like without having to mess with it.

By contrast, it is seldom hot here in Seattle. All of our cars have (and had) black interiors. It works great here. |
