Easy way to make the exhaust on my 2019 430i have popping/crackle sounds?
Hi, so I got a new 2019 BMW 430i about 6 months ago as a lease and I was wondering if there is a simple mod or something thats not permanent to have the exhaust on my car make a bit more sound like crackles or pops :P
I have Bimmercode and I used that too get automatic folding mirrors working, is there maybe something I could configure in Bimmercode to "disable" the electronic shut off thing that cuts the fuel from going to the exhaust?(I dont know what it is specifically) The only time the exhaust makes a nice pop is when I floor it right before I switch gears when the RPM is around 4k-5k Is there a trick to get the exhaust to crackle/pop while driving or revving? I watched a video on how to do it but it doesnt seem to work for me, when I am at lets say... 3k RPM on second gear, if I let go of the gas and wait a second for the revs to go down then press slightly on the gas again, the car doesnt make any sound and just slightly speeds up? Maybe I am doing it wrong...? Thats what the video said you should do and showed an example of it working on a 328i. -Thanks! (I originally posted this in the N55 section and was told I would be better off posting it here) |

First of all, you're in the 2-series forum. Secondly, exhaust "burbles" are a function of flash tuning, not feature coding. There are flash tunes that will do this, although most of them are for 6-cylinder models. Check the 3- and 4-series forums for more info.

I think the simplest way would be to get a downpipe. And it is fully reversible.
Ideally you should also remove the muffler as well, but that would involve cutting the exhaust. With this you will get a fair amount of cracks and pops. But if that is not enough you need to flash your ECU. It is not recommended to do this with stock cat, as you risk damaging it.
