Off topic question, but is there a width difference in the wheels of you have Runflats over Michelin PSS?

The lower speed limit is due to the Xdrive.

My dealer made that mistake, I didn't catch it until after delivery. They ended up ordering me a new car with the correct tires. Nights and day difference btwn the PSS and the A/S tires

Not sure if it's that way for xdrives but on RWD, the lower speed limit is caused exclusively cause of the tires

we tried that first, they had to contact BMW engineers in Germany and my dealership was told once the car leaves the factory, that part of the computer can't be changed any more

they already had ordered new wheels and tires but the computer was the problem

you have up to 10 hours (of running car time) to update the V_MAX value... after that the DME ecu gets locked

In this case BMW limits all Xdrives. 2,3,4,5 ect. Alpina might unleash them, not sure. BMW has the option code on all Xdrives. Yes they will limit due to tires too.

@Pikcachu Is the V_MAX value something that has been solidified? Is it realistic to think that once a vehicle arrives at your dealership for one to pick it up, you are still within that window?

Bridgstone Potenza S001 RFT staggered. Don't like the tire at all but actually it's not too bad in terms of comfort.

That is the appropriate choice to have the higher speed limiter (250 km/h = 155 mph). The all season tires M235i have the slow (210 km/h = 130 mph) speed limiter. So it is very important to order the car with the high performance tires because a car with a 130 mph speed limiter will be harder to sell.

Anyways, speed limiter is a none sense on a performance sport car. I had 3 Porsche, including an "improved" (+95 HP) 911 turbo that I sold few months ago, and beleive me none of them had a speed limiter...

Are these MPSS run flat tires ?

recent 235i delivery - which tires?

Has anyone recently taken deliver of a 235i with non-run flat summer tires? Did it have MPSS tires on it?

Is there a way to actually check the VMax without maxing it out on the road lol?

By the time you pick it up its way to late.

ECU tune can remove the limiter.

Many of us! There are some really good high performance all seasons out there, and most have better grip during rain than the PSS. For a daily driver that hits all the seasons and never sees a track, PSS is not the best option.

19's? Really?

Regardless, RFT's will set your limiter to 130.
