I did, too. Only I gave up back in March when they told me they wouldn't have it out until the end of 2019 to beginning of 2020.
Also, when I mentioned I had a DP with 200 cell cat the guy went total A-hole mode and said I voided the warranty of my Stage 1 and if I didn't tell him my name he'd pull it up from caller ID. I've been loving my Mission Performance Stage 2 ever since.

I agree I have been more than patient waiting for a stage 2 - We are happy with the car on stage 1 with CAI and exhaust - more than holds its own on the track (high 11 low 12) and had some impressive wins over GT 5.0l and cameros Just wish Dinan had said up front that they will not be doing a stage 2 anytime in the near future if at all

I have the .v1 and the Dinan CF intake and it is a beast, scary fast, almost too fast for the car. If I keep my auto shift lever to M/S (rather than "D") in comfort or sport mode all the time I never get a CEL. If I run the car in "D" (Drive) in comfort mode, I throw a CEL about every third start up (and it goes away approx 3 start ups later. Dinan approved (through my BMW dealer/Dinan dealer) a .v2 exchange, but I kinda hate to dump the .v1 just because it is such a powerful tune. Reports are that the .v2 is noticeably tamer. I'm hoping to get a Stage 2 before my car goes out of warranty (Dec 2020) as I'd likely exchange tunes to the .v2 if only for trade-in purposes. Don't want a car throwing CEL's when trading. Curious if yours is a .v2 and performing so well. |

Pretty sure originally they were saying Q1, .... LOL!
I am glad they gave me a refund a year ago when I was having all the CEL problems with stage 1v1, because it made it possible for me to go a different route, to which I have had NO cel at all. One more year left on the lease, and then into a new M3/4 - S58 (actually has twin turbos), .... prob order in Jan, ...... can't wait!

Tell me, V2 for the Stage 1 for a M240i is more tame? For the 230i it is so much smoother and Dinan said it actually produces a bit more horsepower than V1. I added performance exhaust from Dinan, and only changed the air filter to a BMC. Huge gain over stock and over the V1. No CEL's ever now. What's with the M240i Dinan tune?

Wish we knew! The .v1 for the M240i is a beast, but has gremlins. I have not heard of issues with the BMW 4cyl tune . Although with the B46 motor in the Mini Cooper S, there are issues with the Stage 1 (or Elite). From what I've read the Elite Stage 1 Dinan on a JCW Mini is fine (B48 motor).

That's a month ago now. Are you in any regular communication with them, or are you waiting for the message telling you they're ready to release the beta to you for testing?

I may take a look at the 2020 Supra before my 240i warranty expires. It looks frumpy in pix, but most say it looks good on person. I'd like to see one in person and sit in it. It's a strong performer based on what I've read and beats the Z4. From what I gather, during the Toyota and BMW collaboration, Toyota sent design changes back to BMW to beef up what Toyota thought were weaknesses in the design. So reliability on the Supra should be "Toyota Good".
We shall see. C8 has piqued my interest, but actually prefer a smaller car. My M240ii is a low mileage garage queen. If Dinan into'd a Stage 2 (w/o CELs), I'd probably keep it long term. As is, not so sure................... Starting to think the Dinan Stage 2 for our cars is "vaporware" Last edited by USA-RET; 09-20-2019 at 08:53 AM.. |

I talked to a local dealer here in portland and according to them, flash tune is supposed to be released either late this year or q1 of 2020.
Yet I talked to them in spring and they said it was supposed to be end of summer so you never know how low of priority this is for Dinan. |
