Applied Gyeon Q2 Rim to my wheels

Applied Gyeon Q2 Rim quartz protectant to my matte black BC Forged KL12 mono-forged wheels. It was an easy application. I first washed the wheels with my standard CG Diablo Wheel Gel routine doing a 3:1 spray on mix followed by a bucket wash with Wheel Woolies. Then applied their Q2 M Iron. That is some strong stuff! Use it in a well ventilated area. Smells like hair perm on steroids at your Mom's hair salon, but works great.

Once a wheel was off the car, I applied their Q2 M Prep which is a strong degreaser. Also, you can use the Iron and Prep products on the rotor, hub and caliper. The Q2 M Iron removed the light corrosion that forms around the inner rotor near the hub. Standard strength stuff never got that off even with scrubbing. Then you can use the Prep on the caliper to prepare it for the Q2 Rim coating.

The kit comes with suede application patches and an application block. I also cut up a small red foam application pad in quarters to hit the contours of the spokes and lug holes. With a few drops on the suede patch you can use the applicator block to hit the barrel, and on my wheels the back of the spokes. On the front, I used the cut up foam applicators. It goes on pretty easy doing a section of the wheel at a time, then you wipe it off before it gets sticky, which I didn't experience.

After the application, the matte wheel is left with a deeper, richer look without ruining the matte look. I thought they turned out great. It's supposed to give a year of protection- I'll let you know how it holds up.

For perspective on the pictures, I've had the wheels on since the beginning of June and the calipers/hubs/rotors are original, now 2.5 years old since production.
