Rag Top Care

Lots of great information about detailing, would like to get some recommendations on detailing and maintenance care of the black rag top on a 2018 M240i. I am assuming the rag top on the M240i is fabric instead of vinyl?

This is my second convertible, previously owned a 2012 Ford Mustang GT Convertible, white with fabric tan top. The top was a nightmare to keep clean, it simply never looked nice no matter what I did.

This is what I used on the GT:

Soft Top Cleaning

I did lots of searching for the on how to care for mine and ended up using 303 Fabric Guard. You can get a kit with cleaner and protectant. Cleaner really worked well. I used a hand pump sprayer to put the sealant on. I covered all the glass and paint to prevent overspray. Really happy with the result. Beads water like wax on paint. You probably won't need to seal it for a couple of years depending on your washing habits. I only spray mine with water and never soap it up when I do the car. The recommended file has really goof advice.

I'm sure most of the products are very good and sometimes it comes down to whats readily available in your area.
