M Perf. Suspension on Base 228i

Hi,

I found a couple of old threads, but wondering if anyone has installed this on their 228i? I have a 2016 without THP, and the float is killing me on the highway. Looking to tighten up things a bit, moderate drop, and it seems I can get this for $700-ish at a few places online (https://www.advantagebmwparts.com/oe...BoCxSsQAvD_BwE). Weirdly the BMW site says it won't fit a 2016 but everything I've read says it will?

Not looking to track or spend a ton, but want to firm things up for the inevitable tune I throw on, think I'm between these and Dinan springs atm. I'm on OEM staggered 18's if that comes into play at all.

Thanks!

...or if anyone has upgraded a base 228i to anything under $2k!

I have the MPS (same part number) on my 2016, it certainly fits and was dealer-installed. It seems to be holding up well after about 30k miles. Keep in mind that you need to order the front and rear springs separately, they don’t come with the strut package.

I have a 2014 228i with the factory M-Sport package and it is night and day over the base model. I drove both when ordering it. You will be pleased!

Would this work on the Xdrive models?

The rears will (springs and shocks), the front struts won't. You can try and get a different aftermarket front strut like Bilstein/Koni and pair it with the M-Perf front springs though.

did anyone end up doing this? Im interested, but have 230i xDrive, so would need to buy an additional set of front Konis, which might be too rich for me. But interested in results.

If you're going to be spending $700 for the MP dampers, plus however much the springs and bumpstops will run you on top of that, you might as well just look at KW v1's. The damping will probably be much better, it's height adjustable for corner balancing, and they seem to run just above $1000.

You can't say that unless you have the damper dyno plots and spring rates.
