im so confused on this exhaust
what is the dummy flap actuator? why would BMW make a system that isn't plug and play? why isn't there a flap to open on this exhaust if the car is made to do so? anyone have any sound clips and or pics of how it fits with a M diffuser? |

My dealer just called and my order came in. By this time tomorrow I'll have mine installed. For the questions above, the factory exhaust has the flap to "civalize" the car. Meaning when it is in comfort mode it restricts one side. The MPE has no flap so open flow 100% of the time. The MPE comes with the pigtail that is plug and play and is required to send the signal to the computer that it now longer has a flap.

Wow. Way way way to much thinking going into the exhaust guys....
Simple setup and installation fit and finish just like the factory. Dummy actuator plug even comes with a hanger. The cold start is very aggressive and the downshifts burble nicely when slowing down. It still has that dad loud tone while cruising in comfort mode but becomes aggressive in the mid to upper rpms. I'm happy with the exhaust so far and will post a vid soon

AWESOME....I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm curious if you did CF or Stainless tips. I've done a lot of CF on my car but am tempted to do Stainless so that there is contrast with the black diffuser.

The stock tips will not fit the pipes unless you force them on. I have the performance diffuser and need to buy tips

I just picked my car up with the MPE installed. Really nice difference. Much more throaty. And from the ear dyno...added some horsepower Actually what I really like about it is that you can now feel and "hear" the wonderful power the B58 makes. It will only get better after 1k miles and the packing gets broken in.

Here you go. Hope I figured out how to post a video link to YouTube. I'm very pleased with the exhaust. Great sound. BMW knows what they are doing!
