Using the Front Pad wear sensor in the rear?

I changed my front pads a year ago and accidentally got 2 front wear sensors.
It's now time to replace the rear pads and I'm wondering if I can just use that extra front wear sensor in the rear.

The only visible difference from my cursory scan was that the cable is a lot longer than a rear pad sensor.

Any other electronic/mechanical things that i'm not considering?

Same electronic/mechanical things, just a longer cable. Make sure it's out of the way of any rotating objects!
