The N20 plug is 1 step colder than the stock N55 plug. The S55 plug also has the same heat range as the stock N55 plug. So anyone of us FBO folks should benefit from a colder plug. The N20 plug gapped to .020 - .023 depending on boost seems to be the way to go.
I did, yea, I ended up with the OEM N20 plugs. Will install them in the spring when the car comes back out. Can't wait, you can really tell that the car needs it after 20k FBO abuse, 40k total kms on the dial on the stock plugs.

Agreed, mine just hit 25,000 mi on the stock plugs. About 8,000mi at FBO map 2. I kind of wish I would have gone a step colder over the summer months as I drove it this year more than I typically drive my fun car. Recently I pulled coded and got a mixture too lean code which I figured may have been a random miss fire. Plus it seems on start up with 3.8gal E85 to 93oct. Startups have been stumbling and boggy. Hoping this plug change will help clean up start up and drivability. I read stock gap is .032 so by now its probably closer to .035 or more. Mine is mainly in for the season but I will chime in after the change to report back.

I just replaced my plugs with the stock NGK N20 plugs on my 228. I've had the BMS Stage 1 tune on my car for 18K miles. I'm currently at 67,077 miles. The photos are oriented left to right is from of the car to rear as far as cylinders go. When I first started it up I had some sputtering. I checked the coil connections and made sure that they were all seated correctly again. Started it again, no issues. That rear plug is a pain in the butt.

Thoughts?

I wanted to post back quickly and halfassed just because I'm so excited. I replaced my stock plugs today with N20 plugs as they are 1 step colder than N55 plugs. I had roughly 25,000 mi on the clock. I will post up picks of the plugs pulled but all looked good. I took the car out shortly after, got it to temp and gave her the beans. Ambient air temp is a cool 56F. Iat's were in the 70's. The car did not want to keep traction at all in 2nd to 3rd gear. The car pulled like a raped Ape.! Couldn't believe the difference. I gapped the plugs at .022. These plugs are performing very well so far. I am very pleased

To add... throttle response felt sharpened... idling and startup was much improved as E85 can be rough around the edges. Also I wanted to take it a little easy. I kept the JB4 in map 1 to test. I can't wait to bump it up to map 2.

Are you running E85 all the time or mixing? Did you do a custom map for that or just map 1? I'm debating on going to JB4 from Stage 1 so I can have some tuning options.

I actually had to check all the plugs again and re-gap them to .022 per BMS recommendation for their tunes. Made a big difference. All the things you just mentioned. Took me 10 minutes this time. I took the rear cover off this time. Ha ha.

I am mixing roughly 3.5 to 4g of E85 to 93 Oct. on JB4 Stage 2. I am FBO. I recently bumped from map 1 to map 2 again and the car just feels great.
