Did a concientious break in. 7700 km not a drop of oil usage.
None of my cars have ever burned oil... I did do an out of schedule oil change though before winter/after 6 months. The dealership thought I was insane lol. |

I am at 8500 miles, never changed the oil. I just did the "detailed oil measurement" and it is telling me I'm at the minimum level and to add a quart. I did the break in period according to spec. I drove pretty hard after the break in though, being in Germany and all (very frequent 120-140+ mph runs on the autobahn....even my daily commute to/from work).
I am going to get the oil changed which I planned to do anyway. |

I'm not really sure how the BMW turbos are cooled or even the vanos lubrication set-up, but using a quart of oil with these cars doesn't seem like a quality or clearance or mechanical issue.

At about 8500 miles I had to put in a quart. I bought the car in May and hit 8500 a few weeks ago...so I put some miles on it pretty quick. Can't really help myself.
