I purchased P3gauge in summer still with beta software . There is wrong oil temp values, so I wrote to P3cars (7.11).
Rick wrote me: "to fix the oil temp calibration, we would need to send you the final, non-beta software, which was released a couple weeks ago." But it was the last answer, from this date I did not get any answer to my questions !!!And I´m on beta software still. So I am quite disappointed in p3cars. BEWARE ! |

smahel,
Did you not post this over here? http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1064817 Your best route is thru P3cars to get your software updated. Please e-mail them again or maybe call and speak with someone? 614-317-3035 At least give them a chance....they have supported many of us |

You can also call us at 1-614-317-3035, or use the form on our contact page of the website. Sorry if I dropped the ball on your e-mail, it shouldn't have happened. Software updates are free for you, just pay $14 for international shipping... we send a pre-programmed memory chip that installs into the control box, so you do not have to ship anything back to us... just toss the old memory chip. -Rick |

Did you make sure to configure the gauge to d.On.A to enable auto-dim in software? |

O.K., I wrote some messages to rick@p3cars.com, two messages on p3cars web form, but nobody answered. So I´m glad that somebody is reacting to my threads . Only one thing I want to know is, how to get final, non beta software ? Have I order it ? Have I something to pay ?

@RiXst3r - thanks for the info. And congratulations (plus best wishes - hope the tiny one is getting on OK!)
The "dim" config menu does not appear on the gauge at the moment, but then again I haven't checked config when the temporary wire tap was in, so I'll do that this weekend and post a few photos on @zipphreak's thread, in case more people with an F20 wonder where to connect the green wire. @smahel - I checked the oil temp on the P3 against the internal thermometer reading in the instrument panel, and the P3 is within +0/-2 °C between 5 °C and 121 °C with the new software (my gauge is dated 1 November 2014). When you get the new chip you should be OK! |

zipphreak did a nice writeup showing exactly how to set up the automatic dimming function and it really is just that easy to do. I used his guide when doing mine, but I also used my multimeter just to be 100% sure I was tapping into the +12v line, but I'm convinced that at least on the 2 series that are on the road right now, the grey/pink line to that switch is always the switched +12v line powering the light for the switch. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1053180 |

IIRC alt the group buy units were advertised with the oil temp included as an upgrade to the previous generation.
