Hmmm. Not sure what the issue could be. IIRC changing screen resolution also didn't fix the issue.

Well I fixed the issue by changing settings in .exe file. Am I going to have issues if I code with using .exe file instead of launcher?

Yes, I don't think that you will see the descriptions in the CAFD files. This is something the launcher adds since BMW 'trims' the files now. If you try to code it will be obvious when you try to edit a CAFD.

So since I haven't heard from tokenmaster I decided to try a few things and nothing fixes that resolution bug. Again if I run .exe file it works fine but not when I use Launcher. Anyone else has a fix?

Right-click -->properties on java.exe and javaw.exe; in the "Compatibility" tab, I ticked "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: System"

I feel like the dumbest computer tech that's ever lived. I've read every guide in this thread, bought the cable and I'm still baffled at where to code enhanced bluetooth. I don't see it anywhere on the cheat sheet. I just bought a 2014 M235i.
This is the cable I bought: https://www.ebay.com/urw/write-revie...LwwLp9ukg73CVo Loading up the VM and software is easy enough but the coding itself is really confusing. EDIT: I think this might work? https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...65&postcount=9 |

Ugh... so I have HU_ENTRY so I have to redo step 1 with 6NK. How do I know if the car has BMW Assist?
Step 1. Change FA from 6NH to 6NS: E-Sys - How to change FA in F-series car.pdf Step 2. VO Code Head Unit and standalone Combox (CMB_MEDIA) if present: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on Head Unit ECU (e.g. HU_NBT, HU_CIC, HU_CHAMP, HU_ENTRY, HU_ENTRYNAV, etc.) (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE (Not Code FDL). Repeat Step 2 above for and standalone Combox (CMB_MEDIA) if present. * Note: 6NS is used for NBT Head Unit. For cars with 6NH and ENTRY or CHAMP2 Head Units, use 6NK, or 6NL if car is equipped with BMW Assist. EDIT: Wow I actually have BMW assist! I paid $25900 - $9000 Canadian for my trade in for this car and it only has 52000kms. Bargain of a lifetime. No accidents and the car is in beautiful shape! Edit 2: 6NL worked perfectly, BT audio and full messaging support. I removed disclaimer warnings, added some audio features to the USB ports and a couple other things. I really appreciate all your help Pikcachu, you're a gentleman and a scholar. Last edited by pastuch; 10-10-2018 at 10:58 PM.. |
