OP, your post was fantastic. Every scroll of the wheel brought more and more wow. Well done.

Hey! Definitely go for it! They really add a lot to the rear end!

I see you're in Raleigh, I actually drove my car up from Greensboro! It was a great drive until I got to Virginia
I did it

Edited OP and here's a preview of the latest "mod" for the summer.

Day 31; they haven't realized I'm not a Subaru yet.

Better pics to come after the weekend!

Updated OP with new parts!

- Turner Monoball Bushings
- Rogue Short Shift Kit
- Pure Stage 2 Turbo
- Pure Stage 2 Inlet
- Dorch Engineering Stage 1 HPFP
- Maintenance: Coils, Plugs, Oil, Coolant

HUGE shoutout to @K8_M235i for helping me install the Rogue SSK, PS2, and just genuinely being a great friend.

@K8_M235i and I agreed to meet at his house in Boston on the 10th through 13th to get everything installed and my car sorted before his track day that Tuesday.

If nothing else he’s a magician and knows his stuff, having helped his friend do a twin turbo upgrade on a 135. I do enjoy wrenching my own car and being part of the process and this was legit the most apart my car has ever been. It was both nerve wracking and exciting but we were able to get everything done by Monday early evening and I was able to drive home without issue.

Will add some phone pics of the install when I have time!

Loving this build man. I'm a big fan of tasteful modifications and "OEM +" as some people call it. That's the look I strive for too. Do you have an instagram?

2THIRTY5 How confident are you that you will be able to fit the 18x9+42 with 255 squared? I'm still trying to find a wheel set up I'm comfortable with running 255 squared with some lowering, my stock staggered wheels actually have 255/40R18 MPSS's and the car is stock height, I got my front fenders rolled and slightly pulled in prep for 255/35/18 on either 9 wide or 8.5 wide, do the Ohlin's R&Ts give a little more space inside as well?

Thank you!! It’s so hard to keep it so subtly aggressive. I’m good on the visual of it until I decide to get the custom front splitter I want and CSL style trunk. But this’ll do for now!

I’m confident because the Vorshlag plates give me the flexibility of adding camber when I need it.

There are two setups I debate constantly, and it really comes down to which tire I decide to run for the square set:

18x9” ET42 (+10mm or 15mm spacer front / none rear) 255/35 MPS4s
18x9.5 ET43 (+10mm minimum front, most likely will need 12-15) 255/35 RE71R

I can’t comment on inner clearance as I’ve always tried to push the wheels as far out as I could to find the fender clearances.

I LOVE it, it’s a HUGE improvement while feeling super natural. I can’t even imagine what it’s like anymore to not have it.

Updated OP:

Swapped out the Pure inlet for the one piece Steamspeed Turbo Inlet as well as swapped out the GFB DV+ for The Turbosmart Dual Valve BOV.

I’ve done the DV+ enough times that it really doesn’t take me that long to reach that area anymore. The biggest takeaway from doing the job this time was that I also removed the turbo inlet piping allowing MUCH easier access to the top bolt of the BOV that gives everyone the most trouble.

I’ll try to upload videos when I’m on a laptop later.

I will be shopping for a 2016 M235. I owned a 228i and really liked it.but I wanted a little more power and handling. Your M235 is awesome. I am much older than you so I won't be doing much to mine but I remember the days when I was just like you. Keep us posted.

The M235i is an amazing car for the price point - as much as I want an N55 M2 now that they’re coming down in price as well, it wouldn’t make any sense with how far I’ve come with this car.

I appreciate the kind words and I definitely still have more planned for this car

OP Updated

- Took the Fabspeed Muffler Delete off in favor of the MPE. I've been taking the car on some roadtrips upstate and around and the drone was getting a little obnoxious for the longer car rides.

- Finally took a day to strip the old CK Quartz UK 3.0 Ceramic Coating off the car that I had done (ironically a year ago to the day), and gave the car a thorough decontamination, followed by a polish, and finished off with Gyeon Q2 Mohs, Gyeon Can Coat, and Car Pro Reload.

- Ever since the PS2 install, I was chasing what felt like a misfire / stumble / hesitation at partial throttle, and sometimes all the way through full throttle. I replaced the intake manifold gaskets and throttle body gasket thinking there was a vacuum leak and/or I hadn't seated those properly when I installed the Dorch HPFP. Next diagnostic test was to swap the old coils back in, still nothing. I put the Delphi's back and moved on to the next item: Plugs. I had gone with the NGK 97506 under recommendation from almost everybody. I swapped the old BMW RB ZMR5TPP330 and what do you know, the engine is running smoother and happier again. Thankfully I ordered through FCP Euro so I'll be returning the NGK's and returning the old ZMR5TPP330's in favor of a new set.

- My M-Performance Front Splitter was cracked and literally being held together by Gorilla Tape. I took the opportunity to order the GAZP Large 2 Series Front Splitter. I did a little custom work by cutting the fins originally used on the M-Perf so I could retain them and fitted the GAZP splitter underneath.

- All that's left is to continue the revisions with Wedge for both the 93 and E40 tunes and we're on our way!

Here's a photo dump of the most recent photoshoot (see more at instagram.com/clint.mendoza)

I am most definitely planning to track this car - not to go out and set record lap times, but to learn the limits of the car and myself, and really enjoy the fruits of my labor so far.

I'm looking at Palmer for sure along with Lime Rock, but anything within driving distance of NYC really.
